Promo code field

A text field for entering a code of letters and numbers that recalculates the order total.

What it is for

A marketing tool. The code needs an instant check on the server: either the discount is applied, or a clear error message appears. It is often tucked behind an “I have a promo code” link, so it doesn’t distract other shoppers from checking out.
