Carousel (slider)

A block that lets you flip through a set of images or cards by scrolling sideways.

Also called: carousel, slider, slideshow, slide show, gallery, image gallery, swiper, banner, hero slider, dots under a picture, dots below the image, arrows on the sides

What it is for

It saves vertical space by showing several items in one place. You move through it with a swipe, arrows or dots. It isn’t a good home for anything critical, because most people never get past the first slide.

  • Promo blocks — banners with sales on the main screen
  • Product pages — a gallery of product photos
